Bellefonte blanks Mifflin County in Legion baseball

Ryan McElwee pitched a complete-game shutout as Bellefonte dropped Mifflin County 6-0 Sunday in American Legion baseball.

McElwee struck out five, walked two and scattered six hits as Bellefonte improved to 2-1.

Gehrig Schuster collected three hits, including an RBI single during a three-run second inning, to pace the offense. Ethan Corman added two singles and Tanner Helms had an RBI single. Bellefonte also got runs on a bases-loaded walk to Jacob Gates, an RBI ground out by Jeremy Warefield and two runs crossed on an error.
