State College wins Little League opener

State College won its opening game in the District 5 Little League tournament for 11-12 year-olds with a 6-3 victory over Bellefonte on Friday night.

Juman Sung delivered a three-run home run for State College, while Hayden Alterio belted a three-run shot for Bellefonte.

State College advances to meet Nittany Valley in the second round on Sunday, while Bellefonte drops to the elimination bracket and waits until Tuesday to play its next game.
