Clarence Mounties sweep Spring Mills to advance to championship series
The No. 1 seed Clarence Mounties had no trouble wrapping things up.
The Mounties swept their County League semifinal series with a 10-0, six-inning win over the Spring Mills Braves on Thursday night.
Clarence went 3-0 in the series.
While his outing was cut short by the mercy rule, Clarence’s Justin Taylor had a stellar outing, striking out 10 and allowing only two hits.
He also chipped in at the plate with a two-run double in the three-run sixth inning.
Brian Kochik led all Mounties at the plate with a solo home run and two singles for three total RBIs. Bryce Greene tripled and singled, and three players — Chuck Probst, Derek Jabco and Adam Day — each had a pair of singles.
The Mounties await the winner of the other semifinal series between Philipsburg and Howard.
