Campus Corner: Hildebrand has busy weekend for Pitt-Bradford volleyball

State College graduate Laura Hildebrand had a huge weekend in the back row for the Pitt-Bradford women’s volleyball team.

The Panthers played a pair of matches Saturday in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference quad, beating Mount Aloysius 3-1 and falling 3-1 to Penn State-Altoona. The freshman defensive specialist had 40 digs and two aces against Mount Aloysius, and 32 digs against Penn State Altoona.

For the season, Hildebrand has a team-high 187 digs to go with seven aces and 14 assists. Ptt-Bradford is 5-11.

Football

Peyton Edwards (State College, Juniata) has 19 tackles, 11 solo, three tackles for loss for minus-12 yards, one sack for minus-2 yards and one fumble forced.

Nick Gray (Philipsburg-Osceola, Juniata) has 13 tackles, 10 solo, one sack for minus-8 yards, a fumble forced and a fumble recovered. Juniata is 1-3 after losing to Muhlenberg 56-40 on Saturday.

Aaron Boumerhi (P-O, Temple) has made 3 of 5 field goals, the longest a 52-yarder. Temple is 2-2 after losing to USF 43-7 last weekend.

Cameron Tobias (Penns Valley, Lock Haven) is 43 for 75 passing for 434 yards and seven interceptions. He also averages 32.43 yards on seven punts and has made two tackles.

Kahsim Buey (State College resident, Lock Haven) has caught two passes for 13 yards and has one tackle.

Bryan Greene (Bald Eagle Area, Lock Haven) has caught 15 passes for 137 yards and has one kick return for nine yards.

Nick Boumerhi (P-O, Lock Haven) has made 2 of 6 field goal attempts, the longest from 39 yards. He also averages 28.69 yards on 13 punts and has one tackle. Lock Haven is 0-4 after losing to West Chester 35-14 Saturday.

Taylor Collison (Penns Valley, Franklin & Marshall) has gained 104 yards on seven carries, has one touchdown and has four solo tackles. F&M is 4-0 after beating Susquehanna 27-24 Saturday.

Ben Alexander (Penns Valley, Liberty) saw playing time in a 31-10 loss to Jacksonville State on Saturday. Liberty is 3-1.

Jon Seighman (State College, Lehigh) has seven solo tackles. Lehigh lost to Penn 65-47 Saturday to fall to 0-4.

Brett Graham (State College, UConn) averages 38.7 yards on 12 punts. UConn is 1-2 after losing to East Carolina 41-38.

Soccer

Haley Crawford (State College, James Madison) has five goals and four assists. JMU is 7-4.

Kyle Moerschbacher (State College, St. Francis) has started two games, played in nine and has taken five shots. St. Francis is 5-3.

Haley Giedroc (BEA, Penn State-Altoona) has played in eight games, starting three, and has taken 10 shots. Altoona is 2-6.

Jess Book (Bellefonte, Grove City) has played in three games and taken one shot. Grove City is 5-2.

Lauren Anderson (State College, Misericordia) has a goal and an assist. Misericordia is 5-2-2.

Mac Schailey (State College, Widener) has an assist. Widener is 2-3-2.

Saede Eifrig (State College, Haverford) has a pair of goals and an assist. Haverford is 4-2-1.

Volleyball

Taylor Leath (State College, North Carolina) has 139 kills, eight assists, three aces, 87 digs and 22 blocks. North Carolina is 4-6.

Christine Irwin (State College, Juniata) has seven kills, two assists, six digs and two blocks. No. 9 Juniata is 9-4.

Kayla Bracken (Penns Valley, Delaware Valley) has 63 kills, four assists, three aces, 54 digs and 12 blocks. Delaware Valley is 2-5.

Sydney McNulty (State College, Geneva) has 70 kills, 11 assists, 13 aces, 113 digs and 20 blocks. Geneva is 3-12.

Vee Skripek (BEA, Penn Sate-Altoona) has 32 kills, two assists, nine aces and 32 digs. Altoona is 4-8.

Olivia Meyer (Penns Valley, Penn State-Altoona) has an assist and 11 digs.

Alli Henderson (State College, Kutztown) has 129 kills, 16 assists, 16 aces, 110 digs and 14 blocks. Kutztown is 5-9.

Field hockey

Lauren Bonness (State College, Michigan State) has a goal and an assist. Michigan State is 6-5.

Aiko Dzikowski (State College, Smith) has played in five games, starting one. Smith is 3-4.

Paige Meily (State College, Penn) has a pair of assists for the Quakers (4-4).

Cross country

Kyle Adams (State College, Bucknell) ran a time of 2 minutes, 28.3 seconds over 8 kilometers to place 52nd at the Virginia Panorama Farms Invitational. Bucknell was seventh among 10 teams.

Eric Heatwole (State College, Bloomsburg) ran a 28:12.4 to place 78th at the Lock Haven Invitational.

Emma Federinko (Penns Valley, Misericordia) was 43rd with a time of 23:53.3 at the Lock Haven Invitational.

Josiah Stickles (St. Joseph’s, St. Vincent) was 20th in 30:03.14 in the St. Vincent Invitational.

Eli Urban (St. Joseph’s, St. Vincent) ran a 29:30.76 to place 15th and help St. Vincent win its own Invitational.

Grace Cousins (St. Joseph’s, Savannah College of Art & Design) ran a 21:40 to place 39th in the UNG Cross Country Invitational

Catherine Curtin (State College, UMass) was 161st in the Battle of Beantown with a time of 19:37.
