Penn State’s Emily Frederick takes 9th at Paralympics in Rio
Penn State freshman Emily Frederick competed in the Paralympics on Sunday night.
Frederick finished ninth in the women’s shot put F40 class with a top throw of 4.81 meters.
“It’s just going to make her a so much more seasoned competitor for the next time she competes,” Penn State Ability Athletics coach Teri Jordan said Monday.
Nigeria’s Lauritta Onye won the gold medal with a throw of 8.40.
