Field hockey routs Bison

No. 5 Penn State rolled to a decisive victory over rival Bucknell 9-1 Tuesday night at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex.

The No. 5 Nittany Lions (6-0) posted at least six goals in a game for the third time this season as two goals each were scored by Shay Cannon, Gini Bramley and Kasey Morano. Brooke Birosik had a goal and an assist, Aurelia Meijer and Carly Celkos also netted goals and other assists came from Madison Morano and Moira Putsch.

Nicole Rupnik was the lone Bison to beat the tandem of Jenny Rizzo and Colleen Conway, who combined for five saves. Penn State outshot Bucknell 26-7.

The Nittany Lions begin Big Ten play Friday at Iowa.
