Penn State field hockey beats Ohio State
The No. 5 Penn State field hockey team took an early lead en route to a 2-0 win over Ohio State on Thursday.
Shay Cannon scored 4:07 into the game to give the Nittany Lions a 1-0 lead. Moira Putsch added a goal in the second half.
Aurelia Meijer picked up assists on both goals for the Nittany Lions, who outshot Ohio State 22-5.
Penn State goalie Jenny Rizzo made two saves for the shutout.
The Nittany Lions (12-1, 4-1 Big Ten) return to action at Wake Forest at noon Saturday.
