Ryan earns conference swimming honor

CollegeSwimming honored Penn State’s Shane Ryan as the Big Ten Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.

Ryan won the 100 backstroke with a time of 47.01 seconds and finished first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 44.03 seconds in the Nittany Lions’ 175-117 loss to Virginia Tech last Saturday.

Penn State faces Virginia and Michigan in Charlottesville, Va., on Nov. 4.
