Big Ten Conference honors Penn State’s Shane Ryan in men’s swimming

Penn State’s Shane Ryan earned Big Ten Men’s Swimmer of the Week honors for the second straight week on Wednesday.

Ryan recorded the top time in the nation in the 100-yard backstroke, finishing first in 47.01 seconds in the team’s meet with Virginia Tech last week. He also took first in the 100-yard freestyle (44.03).

He has won the conference’s weekly award four times.
