Penn State field hockey edges Indiana
Penn State built an early lead, then held off Indiana’s comeback attempt for a 3-2 victory at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex on Friday evening.
Brooke Birosik scored twice, the first on a penalty corner 5:34 into the game and the other early in the second half, while Moira Putsch added the other goal for the 3-0 lead.
Kate Barber scored twice for the Hoosiers, who were outshot 25-13.
Penn State next takes the field in the Big Ten tournament starting Thursday at Maryland.
