Penn State women’s hockey ties with Lindenwood
Both starting goalies in Penn State’s Saturday match against Lindenwood recorded stellar performances, tallying a combined 52 saves in the 1-1 draw.
The two goals came during the second period at Pegula Ice Arena. Lindenwood forward Britannia Gillanders scored a short-handed goal at 5:47. The goal was answered about eight minutes later when Penn State’s Katie McMillan combined with Laura Bowman and Amy Petersen on a power play.
Lindenwood’s sophomore goalkeeper Jolene Bebruym made 28 saves on 65 shots on goal. Penn State’s goalie Daniela Paniccia had 24 saves.
Penn State outshot Lindenwood 29-25.
The Nittany Lions are now 4-1-1 in College Hockey America play, and 5-6-3 overall.
