Valdez picks up Big Ten men’s gymnastics weekly award

Penn State’s Favian Valdez was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive week Monday.

Valdez earned three top-five finishes against Army West Point last weekend, including a win in the pommel horse, a fourth-place finish in the vault and finishing third in the all-around.

The Nittany Lions next compete Sunday at Springfield College.
