Penn State men’s gymnast receives Big Ten honor

Penn State men’s gymnast Favian Valdez was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Monday.

Valdez has received the honor four times this season.

Last week at the Winter Cup, he finished 19th in the all-around and pommel horse. He also tied for 17th on the parallel bars.

The Nittany Lions face Navy in Annapolis, Md., at 2 p.m. Saturday.
