Penn State gymnast earns third Big Ten Freshman of the Week award

Penn State gymnast Sam Zakutney earned his third Big Ten Freshman of the Week award Monday after recording a trio of top-three finishes during Saturday’s win over Navy.

Zakutney earned first on the parallel bars (14.2000), first on the high bar (13.950), third on the floor (14.050) and eighth on the vault (13.650). He previously won during the weeks of Jan. 30 and Feb. 13.

The Nittany Lions next travel to Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday to face Nebraska and Iowa.
