Freund wins gold at Canadian Swimming Championships

Penn State sophomore Kaelan Freund won gold in the 50-meter breaststroke Saturday night in the 2017 Canadian Swimming Championships.

Freund snared his first national championship medal with a time of 27.94 seconds. He also earned a seventh-place finish in the 200 breaststroke.

Penn State teammate Liam Veregin placed 10th in the 100 backstroke and 16th in the 200 backstroke.
