Beckford picks up Big Ten honor
ROSEMONT, Ill. — Penn State’s Ethan Beckford was named the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week for men’s soccer.
Beckford is the first Nittany Lion to earn the award in about a year. Phenom Connor Maloney was the last player to earn the award in October of 2016.
The freshman had five of Penn State’s 17 points in its 6-2 win over Rutgers. He had two goals on five shots and assisted on three other scores. The award is the first for the Manchester, England native in his Nittany Lions career.
