Lady Lions cruise past Drexel
UNIVERSITY PARK Penn State guard Jaida Travascio-Green poured in a game-high 31 points — one of four Lady Lions to reach double digits — as the women’s basketball team defeated Drexel 84-70 Sunday at the Bryce Jordan Center.
The others to reach double figures in scoring included Jaylen Williams (17), De’Janae Boykin (14) and Siyeh Frazier (10). Travascio-Green also blocked five shots, while Williams had four.
The Lady Lions closed out the first quarter with a 12-0 run to take control of the game. Penn State is now 2-0, with its next game Wednesday at Marshall.

Nittany Lions fall in NCAA quarterfinals
STORRS, Conn. The No. 6 Penn State field hockey team came up just short Sunday in a 4-3 loss to undefeated No. 1 UConn in the NCAA quarterfinals.
The Nittany Lions appeared to tie it up at 4-4 late in the game, but a video review disallowed the goal. PSU couldn’t capitalize afterward.
Shay Cannon, Bes Bovelander and Abby Myers each had a goal for PSU, while goalkeeper Jenny Rizzo made seven saves. Penn State’s season ends with a 17-5 record.
“If we had taken care of the ball a little better around the 25, we might have gotten a different result,” Penn State coach Charlene Morett-Curtiss said in a news release. “I love the way our kids competed today; I thought they played with a lot of intensity and obviously a lot of heart.”
