Nittany Lions women’s swimming team earns 2 wins
No. 20 Penn State earned a pair of wins Saturday, beating Yale 196-157 and Rutgers 242-111 at a double dual meet.
Penn State’s Katelyn Sowinski (500-yard freestyle; 4:52.89), Melissa Rodriguez (200 breaststroke; 2:16.10) and Monika Gonzalez Hermosillo (400 individual medley; 4:22.84) each won their events. Casey Francis finished second in the 500 freestyle (4:53.97), Niki Price took second in the 200 backstroke (2:01.12) and Alyson Ackman placed second in the 100 freestyle (50.80).
The 200 medley relay team of Ackman, Allie Pennetti, Haley Sinatro and Katie Saloky finished first with a time of 1:42.96.
The Nittany Lions compete at Navy in a dual meet at 11 a.m. Saturday.
