Petersen’s goal leads women’s hockey to win
Amy Petersen’s short-handed goal in the first period was enough for Penn State to squeak by RIT 1-0 on Friday at Pegula Ice Arena.
Petersen, a junior, scored with 2:17 left in the first period. The goal — assisted by Laura Bowman — was Penn State’s fifth short-handed goal in program history.
It was Bowman’s sixth assist of the season.
The Nittany Lions are now 8-14-5 on the season, and host RIT at 2 p.m. Saturday.
