Nittany Lions wrap up Penn State National day two
The Nittany Lions finished day two of the Penn State National meet with a new school record and several performances that rank top-10 nationally.
Tori Gerlach set a new school record in the mile, clocking in at 4:37.83, good for a six-second lead in the competition.
Malik Moffett won the men’s 200-meter with a time of 21.02 seconds, just four one-hundreths of a second off the school record.
Brannon Kidder also broke a meet record, finishing with a time of 1:47.01 in the 800-meter.
Penn State placed three top-four finishers in the women’s pole vault, as Lexi Masterson won and Kasey Kemp and Hannah Mulhern tied for third.
Riley Gaibler posted a second-place finish in the men’s 500-meter, and the men’s 4x400-meter relay team of Alex Shisler, Samuel Reiser, Xavier Smith and Isaiah Harris placed first with a 3:10.29 mark.
The Nittany Lions host their first scored meet of the year, the Sykes & Sabock Challenge Cup, on Friday and Saturday.
