Kidder named USTFCCCA Division I Men’s Athlete of the Week
Brannon Kidder recorded two strong finishes in last weekend’s Penn State National meet en route to earning USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week honors, per Penn State Athletics.
The anchor leg, Kidder came from behind late in the Distance Medley Relay to beat Stanford’s Sean McGorty and seal the race for the Nittany Lions. His time of 3:55 moved the team to fourth on the all-time collegiate list.
In Saturday’s 800-meter race, Kidder outpaced the field by 0.36 seconds, registering a record-breaking time of 1:47.01. The previous meet record of 1:47.36 was held by former Lion Casimir Loxsom, who accomplished the feat in 2011.
