Dinunzio added to USA Field Hockey National Team

Former Penn State standout Amanda Dinunzio will play for the USA Field Hockey National Team come this September, per Penn State Athletics.

A four-year player for Nittany Lion coach Charlene Morett-Curtiss, Dinunzio spent the last four months training overseas in the Netherlands. She received the news via an email from Team USA’s head coach Craig Parnham, she said in a release from her alma mater. She credited her former coaches Morett-Curtiss, Lisa Bervinchak-Love and Stuart Smith for helping her reach the sport’s highest level.

“It’s kind of crazy, it’s hard to believe right now,” Dinunzio said, according to a released statement. “I’ve been working towards this for my entire life and to see it all paying off is incredible.”

After signing the contract, Dinunzio will resume her training in the Netherlands from March until May. She’ll return to her home state in time to join the national team in September. USA Field Hockey makes its home at The Nook in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
