Villanova swept by Penn State swim teams

Penn State celebrated Senior Day at McCoy Natatorium as the the men’s and women’s teams swept Villanova 153-125 and 151-104, respectively.

The No 21 Penn State women (7-2) won 12 events, and the men’s team (3-6) had 14 individual event winners.

Winners on the women’s side included Casey Francis (1,000-yard freestyle), Kaitlin Jones (200 free), Allie Pennetti (100 backstroke), Melissa Rodriguez (100, 200 breaststroke), Katelyn Sowinski (200 butterfly), Nicole Price (50 free) and Mackenzie Cornell (1-, 3-meter diving).

Winners on the men’s side included Robbie Dickson (1,000 free), Matthew Stasiunas (200 free), Tomer Zamir (100 back), Andrew Schuehler (100 breast), JP Cervone (200 fly), Matt Grillo (50 free), David Gross (200 back), Gunther Cassell (200 breast) and Sterg Dikos (100 fly).

Penn State also won both 200 medley relays.

The Nittany Lions next head to the Big Ten Championships.
