Penn State rolls past Lehigh in women’s lacrosse

Behind four goals from both Steph Lazo and Jenna Mosketti, the No. 6 Penn State women’s lacrosse team cruised to a 13-6 win over Lehigh in its season opener Friday.

The Nittany Lions took a 5-0 lead in the first half on goals by five different players. Penn State led 7-3 at halftime and opened the second half on another five-goal run to take a commanding nine-goal lead.

Katie O’Donnell had two goals, and Madison Cyr added one goal and three assists. Abby Smucker and Madison Carter also found the back of the net for Penn State.

Penn State goalie Emi Smith finished with nine saves.

The Nittany Lions (1-0) host Duquesne at 3 p.m. Feb. 20.
