Nittany Lions tune up for track & field postseason

Penn State won 10 events Saturday at the Penn State Tune-Up at the Multisport Facility.

On the women’s side, Obeng Marfo won the shot put (52 feet, 1 3/4 inches), and was joined by teammates Rachel Fatherly (20-pound weight throw, 67-3 1/4), Lexi Masterson (pole vault, 13-5 1/4), Danielle Gibson (long jump, 19-4 3/4), Lauren Costa (60-meter dash, 7.68 seconds) and Frances Bull (600, 1:32.75).

On the men’s side, Jon Yohman won the shot put (56-8 3/4) with other wins from Isaiah Harris (600, 1:17.50), Colin Abert (mile, 4:03.92) and John Dugan (5,000, 15:07.13).

Former Nittany Lion Brian Leap took the long jump (24-2 1/4).

The team heads to the Big Ten Championships on Friday in Geneva, Ohio.
