Nittany Lion gymnasts get Thompson milestone victory

Penn State’s Jeff Thompson earned his 150th career coaching win Monday as the Nittany Lions dropped Maryland 196.350-195.350.

Kiera Brown won the vault and uneven bars, and also took the all-around title with a 39.350 total, to pace the team. Brown posted a 9.900 on the bars and a9.825 on the vault.

Nicole Medvitz was first on the balance beam with a 9.875, and Briannah Tsang led the way with a 9.900 in the floor exercise. Sabrina Garcia was second in the all-around at 39.325, with Tsang third (39.225).

Penn State competes in the Pink Invitational in Philadelphia on Friday.
