Kidder named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week

Penn State’s Brannon Kidder earned his third Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week award of the indoor season Wednesday.

Kidder was the top finisher among college runners in the 800-meter run at the Millrose Games last Saturday. He finished second overall with a time of 1 minute, 47.59 seconds. Duane Soloman, a pro runner who competed in the 2012 Olympics, beat Kidder by 0.07 seconds.

It is Kidder’s six indoor weekly conference award of his career.

Penn State is set to compete at the Big Ten Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday in Geneva, Ohio.
