Penn State wins 1st game of playoff series against RIT

Laura Bowman tallied an assist and a goal to help Penn State to a 2-0 win over RIT in the first round of the CHA tournament on Friday.

Bowman’s goal came at 19:30 in the first period off an assist from Amy Petersen and Bella Sutton. In the second period, she assisted on Hannah Bramm’s goal at 6:00.

Nittany Lion goalie Celine Whitlinger made 20 saves in the shutout.

Penn State will host RIT again on Saturday, looking to finish the best-of-three series.
