Women’s lacrosse stumbles at Stanford
Penn State incurred a 16-10 loss to Stanford on Sunday, hurt by an 8-1 Cardinal run from the first half going into the second.
The No. 8 Nittany Lions (7-2) never led against the No. 14 Cardinal, and trailed Stanford 12-7 at halftime.
Penn State’s Maggie Gallagher notched the second half’s first goal, but the Cardinal responded, scoring three in a one-minute span, pushing their lead to 15-8.
The Nittany Lions had seven different scorers, led by Madison Cyr, Katie O’Donnell and Jenna Mosketti, who had two goals each.
Penn State led in shots 30-27 but hit four posts and were at a 17-10 draw control disadvantage.
The Nittany Lions hosts Drexel on Wednesday, March 30.
