Penn State senior Madison Cyr was named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Cyr was impressive in Penn State’s win over No. 7 Princeton and loss to No. 14 Stanford. The Maryland native combined for eight goals, nine points, nine caused turnovers and three ground balls across the two contests.
In the Princeton game, Cyr recorded two career-high marks — six goals and seven caused turnovers. The senior’s 3.25 goals per game lead the Big Ten, while her 2.13 caused turnovers per contest are good for second in the conference.
Cyr and the Nittany Lions (7-2) are in a bye week before hosting Drexel on March 30.
