Penn State is in seventh place after the opening day of competition at the NCAA Fencing Championships at Brandeis University on Thursday.
In the first of two days of women’s competition, Jessie Radanovich was the top performer for the Nittany Lions on the day, going 11-4 and ending the epee event in second place. Radanovich will advance to fence in Friday’s semifinal round. Jessica O’Neill-Lyublinsky finished 20th.
In sabre, Teodora Kakhiani took sixth and Kathryn Charpin was 14th.
