Men’s volleyball knocks off No. 13 Lewis

No. 10 Penn State recovered from a difficult fourth set to knock off No. 13 Lewis 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 13-25, 15-12 Friday night at Rec Hall.

Aidan Albrecht led a quartet of Nittany Lions in double figures in kills with 20. He was joined by Chris Nugent’s 13 kills and four blocks, 10 kills each for Spencer Sauter and Matt Seifert, 10 digs for Sauter and 17 for Royce Clemens, five blocks for Kevin Gear and 53 assists for Taylor Hammond.

Mitch Perinar’s 18 kills, Julian Moses’ 14 kills, Bobby Walsh’s seven blocks and Scott Fifer’s 47 assists paced the Flyers (14-11), who beat Penn State in the national championship semifinals last season.

The Nittany Lions (14-6) hosts No. 12 Loyola on Saturday.
