Behind stellar starts from Marlaina Laubach and Madison Seifert, the Penn State softball team swept Bucknell in a Wednesday doubleheader, winning the first game 2-1 and the second 4-1.
In game one, Laubach went the distance, scattering eight hits and allowing one run over seven innings of work. The junior tallied six strikeouts and walked only one.
At the plate, Shelby Miller hit a game-tying solo home run in the sixth inning, and Mollie Sorenson had a walk-off RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the seventh.
Seifert posted a similar line to Laubach in the second contest, tossing seven innings of one-run ball. She had three strikeouts, gave up five hits, and walked only two.
Miller continued her hot streak with a first-inning RBI double, Macy Jones hit a solo homer, and Lexi Knief and Erin Pond each had run-scoring singles.
