Penn State’s Leap honored by Big Ten

Penn State senior Brian Leap was selected as the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday.

Leap, a Bellwood native, cleared 53-4 1/2 to win the triple jump at the Texas Invitational last Saturday. It was good for the third-best mark in the country and ranks third in program history.

The Nittany Lions compete at the Stanford Twilight in Palo Alto, Calif., on Friday.
