Illinois upset by Penn State men’s tennis
Penn State beat No. 15 Illinois 4-3 Friday afternoon at the Sarni Tennis Center.
Nittany Lion singles wins came from Tomas Hanzlik over Julian Childers 6-2, 2-6, 7-5; Aws Laaribi over Pengxuan Jiang 2-6, 6-2, 6-2; and Marc Collado over Alex Jesse 6-3, 6-2.
The doubles point decided the match, with Penn State taking two of three matches, with wins from Laaribi and Matt Galush, and Leo Stakhovsky and Matt Barry.
The Nittany Lions host Northwestern on Sunday.
