Rutgers rallied from a two-goal, fourth-quarter deficit to upend Penn State 15-14 Friday night at High Point Solutions Stadium.
Nick Aponte’s four goals and one assist led the Nittany Lions (7-6, 1-3 Big Ten), with two goals each for Matt Florence and Grant Ament. Ament also had three assists. One goal each came from the sticks of TJ Sanders, Mike Sutton, Dan Craig, Kevin Hill, James Burke and Nick Spillane. Will Schreiner made 10 saves in goal.
Jules Heningburg’s six goals and two assists led the Scarlet Knights (10-3, 3-1), who scored six straight goals from late in the third quarter to midway through the fourth. Scott Bieda added three goals and three assists, and two goals apiece were scored by Adam Charalambides and Jeff George.
Penn State hosts Michigan for Senior Day on April 30.
