Dornes climbs leaderboard to second at Big Ten Championships
Leading the way for Penn State, J.D. Dornes moved up to second place individually after shooting a 70, two-under par, on Saturday at the Big Ten Championships at Victoria National Golf Club.
Dornes, who was two-under on Friday, will enter Sunday three shots off the lead. Iowa’s Carson Schaake used a five-under 67 on Saturday to finish seven-under through two rounds.
Also for the Nittany Lions, Charles Huntzinger is tied for 19th at one-over, Cole Miller is tied for 30th at five-over, and both Chris Houston and Geoff Vartelas are tied for 46th at 10-over.
As a team, Penn State is in seventh, shooting 11-over par for the tournament.
The Nittany Lions will look to improve that mark in the tournament’s final round on Sunday.
