Men’s tennis sweeps Spartans at Big Ten Tournament
The No. 6 seed Nittany Lions swept No. 11 Michigan State 4-0 in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday.
It’s the first time Penn State has made it past the first round since 2009.
In doubles, the teams of Leonard Stakhovsky-Matt Barry and Aws Laaribi-Matt Galush defeated the Spartans.
In singles play, Laaribi, Tomas Hanzlik and Ben Lieb handled the competition with relative ease.
Penn State faces No. 3 Illinois in the quarterfinals on Friday.
