Nebraska blanks Penn State in baseball

Nebraska’s Matt Waldron pitched a complete game to lead the Huskers to a 6-0 win over Penn State on Saturday.

Waldron allowed four hits, struck out six and walked none to earn his sixth win of the season.

Nebraska’s Ben Miller went 3 for 4, scored two runs and drove in two runs, and Jake Schleppenbach went 1 for 4 with two RBIs.

The Huskers got on the board on Miller’s two-run single in the first inning.

Penn State starting pitcher Sal Biasi allowed three runs and four hits while striking out six to take the loss.

The Nittany Lions (27-24, 11-9) and Huskers (32-18, 12-8) finish their series at 12:35 p.m. Sunday.
