Penn State men’s golf in 11th at regionals

The Penn State men’s golf team is in 11th place out of 13 teams going into the final round of the NCAA Regional Championships at the Meadow Valleys Course at Blackwolf Run.

The Nittany Lions recorded an 8-over in the second round Tuesday and sit at 14-over for the tournament. Florida leads the tournament at 11-under, followed by Illinois (4-under), Florida State (2-under), Arkansas (even-par) and Idaho (6-over). The top five teams advance to the NCAA Championships.

Charles Huntzinger leads Penn State at even-par after shooting 1-under Tuesday. He is tied for 10th place.

JD Dornes and Cole Miller are tied for 28th place (2-over), Chris Houston is tied for 69th (10-over) and Geoff Vartelas is in 75th (23-over).

The final round is set for Wednesday.
