Penn State track & field athletes Dannielle Gibson and Isaiah Harris turned in gold medal performances at the 2016 NACAC U-23 Championships on Sunday afternoon.
Harris, a freshman, won the 800-meter, posting a time of 1:47.52. He crossed the line just ahead of La Salle University’s Chris Sanders as the United States recorded 1-2 finishes in the event.
Gibson, a junior representing the Bahamas, won the triple jump over Vanderbilt’s Simone Charley. She recorded the second-farthest jump of her career at 44 feet-5 1/4 inches.
