Penn State field hockey upsets No. 5 Virginia

Jenny Rizzo made four saves to help the No. 18 Penn State field hockey team to a 3-0 win over No. 5 Virginia on Sunday.

Aurelia Meijer, Shay Cannon and Gini Bramley each scored goals for the Nittany Lions, and Brooke Birosik and Moira Putsch each recorded assists.

It was the second shutout of Rizzo’s career.

Virginia goalie Rebecca Holden finished with 12 saves.

Penn State (2-0) takes on Temple in Philadelphia at 6 p.m. Friday.
