Former Bellefonte standout Bobby Marsh is headed back to Centre County to continue his college baseball career.

The outfielder and first baseman is transferring from Florida Atlantic to Penn State. Marsh spent fall 2021 with the Owls before returning home. He played with the Elmira Pioneers this summer in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, totaling 41 hits, 25 runs batted in and 21 runs.

Marsh put together a .375 batting average, a .496 on-base percentage and a .692 slugging percentage during his 64 varsity games at Bellefonte. He also collected 72 hits, drove in 60 runs, hit 13 home runs and scored 59 runs. Under the tutelage of head coach Jon Clark, Marsh aided in three District 6 Class 6A championships in 2018, 2019 and 2021.

“It’s exciting for the program anytime you see kids come through the program, experiencing success and having opportunities at the next level,” Clark said. “You want them all to succeed and to have the opportunity to have one of those kids in our backyard playing at the local university that you grow up near, that’s been a part of our lives, it’s an awesome opportunity. A lot of people in our program can continue to see what Bobby can do on the baseball field.”

He hit .333 during his senior season with 18 hits, six were doubles, along with adding a triple and three homers. Marsh drove in 11 runs and 18 runs in 18 games. Despite the season being canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Marsh had successful sophomore and freshman seasons. He batted .415 with 27 hits, 20 RBI and 20 runs in 2019 and hit .370 with 27 hits, including seven doubles and seven homers, 29 RBI and 21 runs in 2018.

Joining Marsh is Mount St. Mary’s graduate transfer infielder/catcher Thomas Bramley and West Virginia graduate transfer right-handed pitcher Daniel Ouderkirk.

Bramley, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound infielder batted .285 in 124 games with Mount St. Mary’s with 109 hits, 16 doubles, two triples and 20 home runs, while driving in 76 runs and scoring 77 runs. He held a .424 on-base percentage and a .495 slugging percentage during his tenure at the Frederick County, Md. program.

Ouderkirk is a 6-foot-9, 255-pound pitcher who owns a 1-0 record and 7.56 earned-run average in 23 collegiate appearances. He’s pitched in 25 innings, allowing 23 hits, 26 runs (21 earned), two home runs and walked 29 batters. The tall righty struck out 38 batters and carries a 13.7 strikeouts per nine innings mark.
