Penn State baseball: Illinois topples Nittany Lions

A four-run seventh inning helped Illinois drop Penn State 8-3 Saturday afternoon at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park, giving the Illini two wins to open the three-game series.

The Illini scored all their runs in the seventh with two outs, with a bases-loaded single by Adam Walton plating two runs, and David Kerian later adding another two-run single. The lead was padded by a two-run single from Will Krug in the eighth.

Steve Snyder was 2 for 5 for the Nittany Lions

Jack Anderson (4-2) pitched one inning and took the loss, while T.J. Jann delivered six strong innings for no decision. John Kravetz earned the win.

The teams finish their series Sunday.
