Penn State baseball: Nittany Lions still winless after loss to Charleston Southern

Charleston Southern scored a pair of eighth-inning runs to beat Penn State 7-5 Saturday.

Chase Shelton and Sam Remick had RBI singles in the eighth to plate the deciding runs. Brandon Burris was 4 for 5 to lead the Buccaneers (7-4).

Aaron Novack and Jim Haley each had a pair of hits to lead the Nittany Lions (0-8), with Novack and Ryan Richter ripping doubles.

Jack Anderson (0-1), the fourth of five Penn State pitchers, gave up one hit and two earned runs in 2 1/3 innings in the loss. Chayce Hubbard, also the fourth pitcher for the Buccaneers, picked up the win.

The teams tangle again Sunday to complete the three-game weekend series.
