Penn State baseball: Ohio State cruises past Nittany Lions

Ohio State scored four runs in the first inning and rolled to a 7-1 win over Penn State on Saturday.

Troy Montgomery led off the first with a triple for the Buckeyes and scored on a single by Connor Sabanosh. Troy Kuh’s RBI double and Ronnie Dawson’s two-run home run finished the four-run inning. Montgomery finished 3 for 4 and scored three runs, and Sabanosh went 2 for 2 with four RBIs to lead Ohio State.

Penn State’s Ryan Richter scored the team’s lone run on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth.

Nittany Lion starting pitcher Nick Hedge took the loss, allowing seven runs on 10 hits in six innings. Ohio State’s Tanner Tully gave up four hits in seven scoreless innings to earn the win.
