Michigan’s Travis Maezes went 3 for 4 with two doubles and four RBIs to lead Michigan to an 8-3 win over Penn State on Sunday.
Carmen Benedetti’s RBI single in the sixth gave the Wolverines a 3-2 lead. Michigan (21-14, 6-6) broke it open with three runs in the seventh on an RBI double by Maezes and a two-run throwing error by Penn State third baseman Ryky Smith.
Maezes had a two-run double in the eighth to push Michigan ahead 8-2.
Wolverine starting pitcher Brett Adcock allowed two hits and two runs (zero earned) in six innings to earn the win. Penn State’s Nick Distasio allowed three runs on seven hits in 51/3 innings in the loss.
