Penn State baseball: Nittany Lions add Butler to staff

Penn State added Andre Butler to the coaching staff Friday as a volunteer assistant coach.

Butler will help with the Nittany Lion hitters and outfielders.

“We are excited to welcome Andre to Penn State and the Penn State baseball program,” coach Rob Cooper said. “He is a smart, young, energetic, coach who will make an enormous impact on our student-athletes.”

The native of the Philadelphia area coached at DeSales University last season, has also coached at Pennsylvania and Swarthmore, and was a four-year starter with a .310 career batting average at Eastern University.
