Opponents change for Penn State baseball team’s trip to Cuba

Cuban officials informed the Penn State baseball team that its first two games in Cuba will be telecast across the country on Cuba’s premier sports network.

Additionally, the team was informed that two of its opponents have changed. Rather than playing Industriales twice, the Nittany Lions are now scheduled to play Ciego de Ávila for their second game at Latin American Stadium. Ciego de Ávila is the defending National Series champion and leads the league with a 30-12 record.

For its second schedule change, Penn State will now face Mayabeque in its third game, instead of Pinar del Rio. The Hurricanes are in 15th place in the 16-team league, sporting a record of 11-33.
