Penn State’s eight-game winning streak came to an end Friday with a 7-0 loss to Michigan State.
Nittany Lions starting pitcher Taylor Lehman allowed four runs on 10 hits in 3 1/3 innings to take the loss. Lehman also gave up two walks.
Michigan State’s Cam Vieaux threw seven scoreless innings, striking out six and walking one to earn the win. Brandon Hughes and Kris Simonton each finished with three hits to pace the Spartans offensively.
Michigan State got on the board in the first inning on Hughes’ RBI single. Spartans left fielder Taylor Grace singled to drive in two runs in the third, and Dan Durkin’s RBI single in the fourth pushed Michigan State ahead 4-0.

Nick Riotto led Penn State with two hits.
The Nittany Lions left runners on second and third in the first inning. They also loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh, but pinch hitter Connor Klemann struck out.
Due to expected inclement weather, Saturday’s game is now part of a doubleheader Sunday.
Penn State (17-13, 4-3) hosts Michigan State (20-5, 4-0) on Sunday, with the first game of the doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
